Gelezen op www.tweakers.net en http://www.aceshardware.com/ [quote:34a65d16b8]120M Transistor NV30 and 107M Transistor R300 (HARDWARE) By Brian Neal Friday, June 7, 2002 8:27 PM EDT According to this thread at 3DGPU regarding an interview with Nvidia's CEO in Wired magazine, Nvidia's next generation NV30 GPU is said to consist of 120 million transistors. This contrasts with the 76 million transistor 3DLabs P10 and the 80 million transistor Matrox Parhelia-512. Given this 120 million figure, it is extremely likely that the NV30 will be produced on a 0.13µ process, whereas the 3DLabs and Matrox solutions are on 0.15µ processes. It has been rumored that the Parhelia-512 will clock at around 220 MHz. Additionally, The Inquirer is reporting that ATi is planning on introducing its next-generation R300 GPU sometime late this summer. The article suggests that the R300 will sport 107 million transistors on a 0.15µ process and will feature 8 pixel pipelines, 4 vertex shader pipelines, and a 256-bit DDR SDRAM memory interface. The R300 was recently used at E3 to demonstrate iD Software's upcoming DOOM III. nVidia gaat ons nog iets laten zien, komende week: Fear is the path to the dark side... fear leads to anger... anger leads to hate... hate leads to suffering." Direct3D is the path of the Jedi… Direct3D leads to satisfaction… satisfaction leads to joy… joy leads to fully-featured, highly-optimised and successful games. For years now the Jedi Knights of NVIDIA's Developer Relations Group and Microsoft’s DirectX team have been working to reveal the innate beauty of Direct3D to all 3D games programmers. It’s time to step aside from fear, to rid yourselves of anger and to turn away from hate and suffering. Come to ‘The Gathering 2’, at the Hilton Metropole hotel in Paddington, London on June 13th and 14th and we’ll train you in the secrets of effective DirectX 9 programming. From basic light-sabre fighting techniques to advanced Jedi mind-control, from the best tools in the business to the purest HAL in the world, the Gathering 2 is the place to be. We’ll have staff from Microsoft on hand to deal with all the intricacies of DirectX 9 and Jedi Master David Kirk (NVIDIA's chief architect) will also be there for the whole event. There’s no other event in history so packed with technical talent - so book your places now. Two days of focused technical tutorial sessions, the opportunity to test your software reflexes on NVIDIA's latest and greatest hardware - and a chance to spend time with us, the Jedi Council - and all for the paltry sum of three hundred and thirty seven earth pounds (plus VAT). And just one more thing… If you were worried that three hundred and thirty seven earth pounds (plus VAT) seemed like a lot, then keep in mind that the conference cost also includes a free GeForce4 Ti graphics card. There's no limit to the number of people from each company who can attend - but there's just one card per attendee. To book: E-mail us at gathering2@nvidia.com (remember to include "The Gathering 2" in the subject line) Call the Credit Card Hotline on +44 (0) 1727 833600 (remember to quote "The Gathering 2") Register on-line by clicking this link and filling in the form Book your room at the Metropole on +44 (0) 1727 833600 as soon as possible, to secure preferential room rates (subject to availability) at the hotel where the event takes place. Special Offer Book 3 Places get 4th place free (4 people have to attend in order to receive 4 FREE graphics cards, you cant send 3 people and get a 4th graphics card for free). To attend The Gathering 2 you must complete the Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement and bring it with you to registration on the day. May the GeForce4 Ti be with you. Wat zou dat zijn ;)

maar die mensen die daar heen gaan zullen een NDA moeten tekenen. dus als ze daar de NV30 gaan laten zien dan weten we nog niets. Hoe dan ook. het geeft wel aan dat nVidia op het goeie spoor is anders zouden ze nooit zomaar zo'n meeting organiseren. de NV30 is dus al een redelijk eind op weg schat ik
