Bootmenu 98 en XP in de fout

Hallo, Bootmenu werkt niet goed meer. Als de pc aangezet wordt dan krijg je het bootmenu waaruit je kan kiezen tussen (in mijn geval is dat) win 98 (c) en win XP(d). Dat had ik ingesteld zodanig dat na 15 sec. automatisch windows XP opstarte. de seconde zie dan terug lopen. Sinds een paar dagen werkt dat niet meer. Ik zie de seconden niet meer wegtellen. systeem start niet meer automatisch op. Ik moet handmatig kiezen tussen de beide besturings systemen. Zie hieronder mijn boot.ini file =========================================== [boot loader] timeout=15 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINXP [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINXP="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect C:\="Microsoft Windows 98" ============================================ Volgens mij is daar niks mis mee ?? wat ook vreemd is dat ik vanuit windows-verkenner bestanden open en die komen dan niet meer inbeeld, maar blijven achter de windows verkenner staan, muis zandloper gaat en blijft knipperen. ik heb de laatste tijd niets geinstalleerd of verwijderd.. Ik weet niet of het helpt maar verander hem eens in: [boot loader] timeout=15 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect C:\="Microsoft Windows 98" kijk ook eens of aangevinkt is dat de lijst met besturingssytemen 15 seconden weergeven moet worden.... In de mijne staat dit ( ik heb ook w98se op C en XP op D van dezelfde HD) [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP " /fastdetect C:\="Microsoft Windows" o ja staan alle bestanden ndie nodig zijn nog wel in de root van C: lees hier maar eens vond ik : Deek,this is what I had to do; Start the PC with an ME bootdisk.Use the sys C: command This will destroy your XP boot loader files. Then go here,and get the XP setup bootdisks here; Obtaining Windows XP Setup Boot Disks Then,using the Recovery Console,(you do not need the XP CD),run the "fixboot" command. Helaas het heeft allemaal niet geholpen. Ik ben over gegaan tot groffe maatregelen en heb beide schijven (C+D) geformatteerd. Eerst Win 98 op C en dan Win XP op D Maar het probleem blijft bestaan na de herinstallatie ?????? ik snap dat niet. Als ik de Xp cd rom er in doe dan heb ik het niet, dan loppt het tellertje netjes terug naar nul en start XP wel autmatisch op Is er iemand die het nu nog weet. Hans
