The card has D-Sub, DVI and TV-out and supports resolutions up to 2048x1536. No data has been disclosed about PowerColor SS8-D3L shipment dates and pricing in Europe. But we know that in Japan such cards should appear in the first third of February for about $165. According to the provisional S3 DeltaChrome S8 tests, this might be too much, but don't forget about the fanless design. But we still doubt that such a mid-range cards really needs 256MB RAM...

Deze topic gaat over de kaarten die nog moeten komen, hoe die gaan presteren is niet bekend. Het is dus niet bekend of de NV40 van nVidia beter is dan de R420 van ATI. Als je vraag niet over die nieuwe kaarten gaat maar over de kaarten die reeds verkijgbaar zijn dan zit je geheel in de verkeerde topic.

De XGI Volario is nog amper verkrijgbaar en er word al weer gesproken over de opvolger van XGI, deze draagt codenaam XG45. Je hoeft dus nog geen nieuw moederbord aan te schaffen voor de NV40 of R420. Men spreekt bij Microsoft over DirectX Next en soms over DirectX LH (long Horn). Of dat 9.1 is of 10 is niet bekend. De NV40 en R420 lijken mij DirectX 9.0b kaarten met wat extra extentie's onder de noemer DirectX 9+ of zo maar goed, dat blijft gissen.

Zo daar zijn ze snel mee, NV40 prestatie's :) Ziet er leuk uit, vraag me alleen af hoe geloofwaardig het arikel is. We believe Nvidia will not send such samples to its manufacturers until the end of February. ATI loopt dus een maandje voor op nVidia, een spannend voorjaar :D
