The following info was just posted at digitimes. [img:4d62dd7551]http://www.ixbt.com/short/2k4-01/pcs8-1.jpg[/img:4d62dd7551] Meer info hier: http://www.guru3d.com/newsitem.php?id=992 According to SS8-D3L specs — 256MB of 128-bit DDR, 300/250MHz — we assume the novelty has a 6-layer PCB. The card has D-Sub, DVI and TV-out and supports resolutions up to 2048x1536. No data has been disclosed about PowerColor SS8-D3L shipment dates and pricing in Europe. But we know that in Japan such cards should appear in the first third of February for about $165. According to the provisional S3 DeltaChrome S8 tests, this might be too much, but don't forget about the fanless design. But we still doubt that such a mid-range cards really needs 256MB RAM...
[quote:724a8a4c18="The Inquirer"]AFTER MAKING a big splash at Computex with its Volari graphics chip, XGI has had some difficulty entering the graphics market. Following the initial PR push, some delays in getting the part to market have left it with only three board partners, Abit, Chaintech and PowerColor. But XGI claims it's not resting on its laurels, and will continue with its next generation part, codenamed XG45. We understand this will include the dual graphics chip design introduced with the V8, and have a similar architecture. The plan is to have the chip PS3.0 compliant, and the fab of choice for the chip is UMC. And, in a plan to hedge against technological hurdles, the core allegedly will be simultaneously designed on both a 130 process and a 90 process. The core speed of the graphics chip is dependent on the final process, and the tentative specs are to have a similar memory interface as the Volari chips, supporting both DDR and DDR2 memory. Tapeout is scheduled for March, and if all goes well with the first batch samples could be available as early as midsummer. Men spreekt bij Microsoft over DirectX Next en soms over DirectX LH (long Horn).

We believe Nvidia will not send such samples to its manufacturers until the end of February.
