PC vast na inpluggen willekeurig usb apparaat

Ben van w98 overgestapt op XP pro, sindsdien zijn mijn usb-poorten niet hotpluggable meer. Als ik inplug en dan opstart werkt het prima, maar zodra ik inplug als de PC aan staat, zit ie compleet vast. En dat is met een pda usb-cradle niet zo handig. Heb eerst de benodigde drivers van diverse usb apparatuur geïnstalleerd, voordat ik ze ingeplugd heb. (HP 2110 all in one, Sitecom bleutooth stick en HP 2210 pda). Waar zit het probleem? :-?

Wat voor moederbord heb je ? Daar zit vaak een cd-rom bij met de juiste usb drivers. Alle updates van XP al van het net gehaald ?

Je probleem is zeker niet uniek. Ik zit met exact hetzelfde probleem echter bij mij loopt de zaak gelukkig niet vast; usb apparaten worden domweg niet herkend. Eveneens Win XP pro met SP1. Ik neem aan dat ook jij alle USB poorten al eens de-installed hebt en opnieuw installed? (verwijderd uit de hardware lijst) Oplossingen zijn zeeeer welkom.

Gooi bij /windows/inf eens weg: usb.inf en usbport.inf Start daarna opnieuw op.
