[quote:f1caaa4089][b:f1caaa4089]ATI Radeon Omega Drivers 2.5.51[/b:f1caaa4089] Was the wait that long? Sorry, I was working on something important that I wanted to share upon the release of these drivers, and here it is: omegadrivers.net Ops! Forgot, the drivers... What's New? (2k/XP 2.5.51) * Based on the official Catalyst 4.6 drivers. * Updated the Omega version of RadLinker (1010), now Radlinker includes a new skin option and ads support x800 overclocking. * Added some tweaks for OLG. Enabled OGL Triple Buffer by default. * Added support for MANY NEW Radeon cards, FireGL cards and Mobility chipsets. ANY card should be supported now and the drivers will always install. * Now the drivers should work a LOT better on laptops. * Fixed FireGL card support, now it has full CP support and fully working OGL. * Changed the installer graphics. * Added a new option in the installer to select a faster OLG driver instead of just using the latest one, this driver runs Counter Strike like butter. Important note: The special OGL driver will NOT work on x800 cards. * The package keeps growing in size, the drivers will keep being distributed in compressed CAB format to save some bandwidth, it must be decompressed using one of these tools (latest version): WinAce, WinRAR or WinZip. Then run the extracted file to start installation of the drivers. * Opened a new site! Hope that's all, have been working for the last 16 hours straight just to get the site done on time for the drivers release and can no longer coordinate correctly. You can get them on my new site. BTW, I was planning on adding another surprise to the drivers, but couldn't finish it, maybe in an update. [/quote:f1caaa4089] http://www.omegadrivers.net/

leuk interview met Dave Orton http://www.driverheaven.net/dhinterviews/daveorton/ [quote:692e3f4627][b:692e3f4627]Allan[/b:692e3f4627]: When I was recently chatting to you in Canada we discussed driver development and progress, with the fact ATI are a leader in Direct3d performance/stability but are sadly lacking in the OpenGL sector especially when compared to your main competitor, can you detail how ATI under your leadership plan to improve this? [b:692e3f4627]Dave[/b:692e3f4627]: We are always looking for ways to improve our products. And a key part of that is our software. Many of the improvements that we have made in the software area are already evident. For example, we have improved our testing processes, resulting in more frequent and more stable drivers and we have implemented a feedback program to learn of driver bugs early on so we can rectify them. Some of the improvements aren’t evident yet, but will be soon. It’s readily apparent that the work we’ve done on the DX driver is world class. We are confident we will do whatever is necessary to make our OGL driver the new industry standard for stability and performance. [/quote:692e3f4627][quote:692e3f4627] [b:692e3f4627]Allan[/b:692e3f4627]: Catalyst has been an incredible success for ATI and it's widely recognised that ATI appear to value their dedicated enthusiast following by pioneering many radical schemes such as the ATI beta testing user group headed up by Terry Makedon, how would you like to see Catalyst developing over the coming years? [b:692e3f4627]Dave[/b:692e3f4627]: CATALYST is a software suite that is the ultimate in performance, stability, and innovation. It will constantly evolve to what the market demands. Our first priority was stability and that is what our main focus has been since we launched CATALYST. However, deep within ATI’s driver research departments, we have been working on a project that will bring a whole new level of usability for VPU software. This product will be launched before the end of this year, and we are very excited about it -- it will be a major step forward in terms of exposing more control and usability, something that users are asking us for. As long as people keep using CATALYST CREW (ATI’s feedback mechanism) we will continue to let our users tell US what the future of CATALYST holds.[/quote:692e3f4627] ben benieuwd :)
