XP overzetten van ide naar sata?

Ik heb een asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo (PCB 1.07 ) met ruimte voor twee SATA schijven. Tot voor kort gebruikte ik deze aansluitingen niet omdat ik twee ide schijven had. Nu heb ik een sata schijf en wil de partitie met winxp prof en de partitie met programma's verplaatsen naar de sata om vervolgens vanaf de sata te booten. Kan iemand mij helpen met de wijze waarop ik deze omzetting het beste kan doen, en met welke tool? Zij er dingen waar ik absoluut rekening mee moet houden? Groeten, Obiwan

Hee naamgenoot! :P Ik zou zelf er niet aan beginnen om de gegevens van de ATA-systeemschijf over te pompen naar de eerste partitie van de S-ATA schijf. Liever een schone installatie met de ATA-schijf losgekoppeld en daarna ontbrekende programma's opnieuw installeren op S-ATA-schijf. Tenslotte evt. ontbrekende bestanden overpompen van de ATA-schijf. Zorg er wel eerst voor dat de boot priority goed staat, dus eerst de S-ATA controller, dan pas de ATA-schijf. May the nForce2 be with you 2 :wink:

Hee obiwan, Dank je voor je tips. Het probleem is alleen dat ik net mijn systeem opnieuw ingericht heb (gruwelijk takkewerk). Ik dacht dat ik alles kon overzetten van mijn ata naar mijn sata schijf met behulp van ghost, driveimage o.i.d. Ik begrijp dat dat niet aan te bevelen is? Obiwan PS. Als ik naar je avatar kijk moet je volgens mij je naam veranderen in Yoda :wink:

Sluit de sata schijf aan op de oude situatie, en laat hem herkennen door windows, of installeer de benodigde driver. Daarna met ghost, driveimage of hdclone de schijf kopiëren naar de nieuwe. Dan oude schijf loskoppelen, sata in bios als bootdisk instellen. Dan zou de pc gewoon weer moeten werken. Misschien moet windows wel opnieuw geactiveerd worden, maar dat zie je dan wel weer. Als alles daarna nog werkt, kun je de oude schijf leeghalen en opnieuw inrichten.

ik wil dit eigenlijk ook wel doen, maar ik heb geen diskettestation wat werkt.. kan ik ook zonder een diskettestation de drivers ervoor installeren zodat hij buiten windows ook herkend zal worden?

Je moet vanuit windows die drivers installeren. Als dat al niet automatisch gebeurd. Dit is de simpelste oplossing om al dat gedoe met F6 en losse floppen te voorkomen.

als ik dat heb gedaan wordt hij buiten windows niet herkend, dus is er geen mogelijkheid om er een windows versie op te zetten.. binnen windows wordt hij wel gewoon herkend natuurlijk.

Tja, een floppy drive is nog altijd onmisbaar. Eventueel kun je S-ata drivers slipstreamen in je Windows-CD, maar da's niet zo simpel.

Het curieuze is dat windows meestal zelf wel geschikte drivers aan boord heeft. Is me ook al diverse malen overkomen, dat windows setup aangaf, dat windows zelf nieuwere/betere drivers had, of ik wel zeker wist dat ik die op de F6 flop wil gebruiken. Als je daar als argeloze gebruiker op ingaat, krijg je dus windows er mooi niet op. En ik blijf het maar raar vinden, dat DOS de schijf wel kan zien en windows niet. Wat is het probleem met de floppydrive, kun je hem niet aan de praat krijgen op de pc, of is ie kapot. Koop anders een nieuwe, die dingen kosten een habbekrats.
