40GB Harddisk op ALDI-PC van 4 jaar oud

Kan ik mijn Maxtor 40GB Harddisk op ALDI-PC van 4 jaar oud installeren? Ik heb hem erin gezet, aansluitingen allemaal goed, alle instellingen van de BIOS al geprobeerd. Hij decteert hem niet. Moet ik mijn BIOS Flashen en waar dan? Mijn oude harde schijf is gecrasht, dus ik kan nu niks met mijn PC... Hellup!!! :roll:

Download MAxblast van de site van MAxtor. Die zorgt dat je bios wel je harde schijf ziet en daarmee kun je hem ook partitioneren. Eventueel ook nog een speciale jumper achter op je maxtor schijf omzetten. (iets van "cilinder limitation jumper" ofzo)

download het nu maar. Dan kan je een bootdiskette maken, eventueel zelfs een cd-rom. Zet dan de bootvolgorde goed in je bios, dus eerst A: of je cd-speler(ligt eraan of je diskette of cd hebt gemaakt) Dan start er een programmaatje, volg daarvan de instructies en je schijf doet het als het goed is. Als er gegevens op die schijf staan ben je ze wel kwijt na het gebruik van maxblast, let daar op!

Probeer eerst maar eens met Maxblast, als die het dan nog niet kun je het met die jumper proberen, jumper is zo'n klein dingetje(meestal zwart) achterop je harde schijf die je over 2 pinnetjes heen kan schuiven die dan contact maken. Jumpers gebruik je ook om je harde schijf in te stellen op master/slave enz. Zet trouwens je harddisk wel op Primary master, das het beste. Veel succes met uitproberen en ik hoor het wel.

Bedankt voor de uitleg, hij zit ondertussen al op 32% dus hij schiet al op. Als ik bij de uitleg op Maxtor.com kijk zie ik van alles met compitability met Windows *.*, ik heb hier toch helemaal geen Windows voor nodig toch? En daarnaast, kan uberhaupt een 40Gieg HD wel op zo'n oud Aldi-Peeceetje pentIII?

Nee, met dat MAxblast maak je ff een boot cd/diskette. Dat programma formatteert je schijf en je kunt hem dan gelijk partitioneren. Je moet dan gelijk aangeven welke windows je erop wilt zetten en Maxblast maakt je schijf dan alvast "klaar" voor die windows. Dat programma zorgt ervoor dat er een zogenaamde "drive overlay" op je computer komt. Dat ding zorgt ervoor dat je harddisk wel wordt gezien. Als het goed is als je het programma geinstalleerd hebt en opnieuw opstart moet er een blauwe balk in beeld komen tijdens het booten. Dan klik je op de spatiebalk of "c" ofzo d8 ik om vanaf cd-rom te booten en dan kan je windows installeren. Mocht je die blauwe balk niet zien, moet je dat hier even aangeven. EDIT: Het hoort wel te werken op een p3-450, in ieder geval wel met Maxblast. Ik heb ook Maxblast gebruikt op een AMD 300 mhz ook met een 40GB Maxtor schijf. Werkt perfect moet ik zeggen, draait hier als backup/file server.

Owh... joepie! Dan moet het helemaal goed komen... ik heb het iso-bestand bijna gedownlond (50%). :D Dan ga ik eerst naar de kerk... laat ik em ondertussen downloaden, ga ik daarna weer verder... (ik zit hier al de hele dag bezig, dus ik heb ff afleiding nodig). EDIT: Hmm, een computerspecialist bij de plaatselijke computerwinkel zei dat een ALDI-pc niet hoger dan 40 GB aankon, volgens mij is dat dan grote onzin.

Disconnect the power cable from these devices. Install the spare jumper on the cylinder limitation (CLJ) position. If the system still hangs after the installation of the capacity limitation jumper, try the user-definable option in the BIOS setup utility as follows: Power the system off and disconnect the ATA and power cables from the hard drive (this step is necessary otherwise you will never get around the hang condition to gain access to the BIOS setup program). Restart the system and enter the BIOS setup utility. Set the BIOS parameters to a User Definable Type with 1024 cylinders, 16 heads, 63 sectors. Set LBA to normal or standard. Ignore the Write Pre Comp (WpCom) and Landing Zone (LZ) settings; they can be set to zero. Save the settings, exit setup, and power the system off. Reconnect the power and ATA cables, and power the system on. If the system no longer hang continue formatting and partitioning the drive with MaxBlast Plus 3. Ik heb dus zo'n Award Bios 4.51nogwat. Maar ik geen systeembeheerder. Waar kan ik die bios downloadn?

ahaaa award 4.51 PG zeker? :lol: Die heb ik ook op mijn AMD 300 mhz. dan moet je die jumper idd er even opzetten en eventueel ook nog je bios updaten. Dan werkt die zeker weten.. bij mij werkt die dus ook :D

Ik heb nu dat MaxBlast-programma op diskette, maar ik kom niet verder dan een opstartscherm met het Maxtorlogo. Bovenin zit dan een regel met A:/. Welke codes moet ik nu invoeren? :roll:

Er staat een hele goede handleiding op de Maxtorsite hoor! :roll: Maar ja, wie leest die nou hè? Net zoiets als een Faq, daar leest ook iedereen overheen :P. Gewoon even op de site van Maxtor zoeken.

Op de diskette (MaxBlast) staat splash.exe. Deze wordt opgestart. Hij zoekt 'command.com' maar vindt het niet. Dat is de MS-DOS-prompt. We zullen dit ff op cd'tje zetten en dan proberen.

MaxBlast werkt met Caldera FreeDOS en zou van diskette gewoon direct moeten lopen.

Deze diskette moet je gebruiken bij het opstarten. Dus niet zelf een bootdisk gaan fabrieken
