Geen beeld, wel piepjes

Ik heb een Dell Optiplex GN van scholl gekregen. Er zitten echter geen geheugenstrips in dus 1tje gekocht Pc133/168pins/128 Mb. Wat gebeurd er: GEEN Beeld en 1 -3 -2 piepjes (d.w.z. ziet geen geheugen) Dus goed gesurft en alles geprobeerd, kaal opstarten, bios reset, andere strips erin. Geen verschil, war kan het zijn? Heb ik voor niets geheugenstrip geocht? Kan ik hem weggooien? Ik weet het niet meer, wie kan mij helpen???????? Systeem: Dell Mobo Pentium 166Mhz 64? Mbram 6GB HDD 2MB Video on board Philippe

wat zegt het boekje van Dell of hun homepage ? Weet je zeker dat er Sdram in moet en geen Edo ram ? Alhoewel de sockets zijn volgens mij verschillend. Reepje er goed ingedrukt ? Wat zou kunnen (P-1 166 Mhz) is dat je mobo NIET overweg kan met PC133. Misschien wel met PC100 ?? Zeker wel met PC66 als je die nog kan vinden. Volgens de theorie is PC133 downwards compatible maar in de praktijk is het niet altijd zo.

Volgens die specs moet je idd EDO hebben. Hoe heb je btw in vredesnaam die PC133 stick erin gekregen dan? Met een hamer?

Nee, ging eigenlijk wel makkelijk, is 168 pins dus dat klopte. (nou, ja niet helemaal dus!) In ieder geval bedankt, ik ga nu op zoek naar Edo-ram, zal niet makkelijk zijn. PS: Moet ik nog ergens op letten? (behalve de prijs en of ie het doet)

Je wilt het liefst doublesided 128MB modules denk ik. Als dat tenminste ook opgaat voor EDO, das al zo lang terug ;) Waarschijnlijk is doublesided 128MB het grootste wat erop kan.

moederbord heeft warschijnlijk 2 soorten bankjes 72 pins en 168 pins dus bord heeft een paar jumpers om het type geheugen in te stellen moet in de doc. staan

Nee, het zijn twee dezelfde bankjes. Er staat zelfs dat je eerst A moet gebruiken (dichtst bij de CPU) dan het andere bankje.

Helaas, niet gelukt om de goede bankjes te krijgen, jammer dan deze is rijp voor de sloop. Groeten, Marc
