Ampron PM-8400B geheugen probleem.

Ik wil in een oude computer mobo Ampron PM-8400B meer geheugen plaatsen. In het mobo kunnen zowel Edo Ram geheugen 4 slots, als SDRAM geheugen , 2 slots , 168-pins DIMM slots. Als ik nu 2 modules van 64mb sdram pc100 plaats, worden beide geheugen modules wel waargenomen maar ieder maar voor 16 mb, dus totaal samen 32mb. N.B. de Edo Ram modules heb ik verwijderd. Het gaat om 2 modules van het merk IBM. Op de modules staat geschreven: " 64M (8M * 64) 3.3V SDRAM NP, IBM opt:01k2681 SIE 905 11S01K2675ZI JGRM95TIGR FRU: 01K1147". De jumper setting voor de geheugen modules op het moederbord heb ik op 3.3V gezet. Hoe komt het dat van de 64mb er slechts 16mb werken. Heeft het mogelijk met de soort PC100 geheugenmodules te maken? Ik weet het niet , weet iemand een antwoord hoe dit op te lossen? Of gewoon verschillende soorten geheugen proberen? IBM werkt alleen met IBM. Heb boven een oude P2 staan en moest perse een bepaald soort IBM geheugen kopen, iets anders werkt gewoon niet. Dus andersom verwacht ik ook geen resultaat

Van daag ga ik het eens proberen met andere pc100 geheugen modules. Kijken of het dan wel werkt. Het blijft raar.

misschien is het bios flsahen een idee

Zou dat kunnen dat je het mogelijk met een bios update (flashen) kan oplossen. Het is in ieder geval te proberen. Hans

Het antwoord voor het geheugenprobleem zit inderdaad in het bios updaten. Op het moederbord vond ik alleen maar V5.2a merk Ampron. Door bij Google Ampron V 5.2a in te typen kwam ik meteen het antwoord tegen. Ga het meteen proberen Hans. I have a Socket 7 motherboard with V5.2a on the frontside and ELPINA on the backside of this motherboard and an AWARD BIOS. [b:f6535ea71d]This board recognized only 16 MB by 64 MB real SDRAM modules and 32 MB by real 128 MB SDRAM modules. In my case I found out, that it was the mainboard PM8400 V5.2a on the amptron.com page.[/b:f6535ea71d] It has an VXPRO+ chipset and the manual from PM8400 shows me, that it’s just this board. After I have updated the BIOS (Do it very carefully and read the tips on the amptron.com sides) with the last published BIOS (84C0430.BIN) for the PM8400 V5.2a board, now the board recognized the full SDRAM-capacity. ALL Socket 7 boards on the ampron.com side have the number PM???? .
