SP2 en compatibiliteit

Ik gebruik nu SP2. Mijn spelletjes werken goed (ik heb er maar 3). Maar nu mijn vraag: Is SP2 wel compatible met alle nieuwe spellen? Ik wil dus zeggen dat als ik een spel koop en er staat op de doos dat het spel werkt op XP dat het dan ook werkt met SP2. Of is SP2 echt spelonvriendelijk? Na al die verhalen over SP2.

De meeste problemen worden veroorzaakt door die Windows firewall. Als je die compleet uitzet is er niks aan de hand. De mogelijke problemen zullen niet snel invloed hebben op games lijkt mij. En mochten er wel problemen optreden, dan zal de ontwikkelaar van de betreffende game wel een update beschikbaar stellen neem ik aan. Maar nogmaals, als je die firewall uitzet, moeten er geen problemen optreden. Zonealarm is een gratis en beter alternatief.

SP2 heeft mijn systeem inmiddels verlaten. Het is alles of niets. Met SP1a werk ik ook prima. Ook op het oog op de toekomst wil ik een AMD64 en dan is mijn originele Windows XP CD met SP1 prima.

SP2 heeft weinig voordelen, zolang je maar alle beveiligings updates binnen laat halen en je voldoende wapent tegen spyware/virussen/hackers door een firewall, goede virusscanner, en anti spyware tools.

dan heb je geluk...ik zal ff ergens checken voor welke series het precies geld....misschien was het wel de Nforce 2 of 3 chipsset waarmee problemen waren..

Microsoft says users may be able to resolve the problem by configuring a so-called DEP exception. AMD also recommends that people affected by the problem do so. Otherwise, Microsoft advises AMD users to remove SP2 altogether. The AMD problem is the latest in a slew of issues that have dogged SP2 since it was first released to PC manufacturers at the beginning of August. By mid-month, Microsoft had detailed some 50 different software applications and games that may encounter problems with the update. The potential for conflicts caused some high-profile businesses, including IBM, to order their employees to avoid installing SP2 until its ramifications can be better understood. Nforce 2 spreekt AMD64 tegen, die is namelijk van de athlon xp/athlon serie. Ik zal sp2 wel een keer testen op m'n AMD 64 als ik probleem heb opgelost en tijd heb, kan je wel vertellen dat het op die xp2000+ zo bagger liep dat ik er maar server 2003 heb opgeknalt.

Ik heb SP2 nu op mijn notebook en pc draaien en geen enkel probleem gehad. Niet tijdens en niet na de instal. Gewoon zorgen dat alle drivers up to date zijn en de windows firewall uitzetten, dan komt alles goed.
