ADSL-USB niet aan de gang

Ik krijg mijn Alcatel-USB modem maar niet aan de praat in Redhat 8.0 (in Windows OK). Als er een verbinding met het internet is verschijnt je IP-adres in het log-bestand. Dat is niet het geval. Ik heb de log-bestanden vergeleken met mijn eigen bestanden. Bij mij gaat hij door met pppoa2m. Dat is nog voor het IP-adres. Heb je de configuratiebestanden nagekeken op typefouten? (Daardoor deed hij het bij mij eerst niet) Overigens krijg ik ook nog steeds veel USB-timeouts, maar hij doet het, dus het stoort mij niet.
